Our First Face to Face - September 15, 2011

Jen is overcoming jet lag and travel exhaustion.  She is learning her way around the University and Tetovo.  She is waiting for  her luggage.  She is figuring out all the pieces and parts of daily living that she needs to put in place.  One of those is the configuration of her personal computer, so that she can communicate other than just from her office.   And we are all learning the time differences.   When it is daylight in Nebraska is it still daylight in Macedonia?  Sometimes.  If I am at work....  where is she?  She is adapting to her  new life.  We are adapting to our new life.

Jen is able to communicate with us in real time for the first time from her personal computer!

Oh my word!

It is not just an e-mail  It is not just facebook chat!  It is face to face, eye to eye, with a live voice!
IT'S JEN....  direct from Tetovo!   WHOAA!
SKYPE  IS  AMAZING!

But I must admit ....  it is a bit emotional!   Who am I kidding?  This first time has been extremely emotional!  There she is!  What a relief!  How awesome to see her and hear her voice in real time!  However, as I looked at her it was like the first time I saw her face.  Moms know what I am talking about (dads too, in some measure!).  You have just given birth and you look at that beautiful fresh face.  It is filled with all the amazement of life.  It is filled with a desire for more of life.  And that beautiful face looks long and hard back at you!

Our conversation lingered, and lingered!  Thank you again, skype!  The good bye was hard.  But, thank you again skype!  Who am I kidding, the good by was torture.  I was right back to the heavy chest and needing to focus on breathing in and out!

In relationships, face to face is to be appreciated and treasured.  It is a gift of the moment and remains for all eternity.

Nothing worthwhile or worthy in this earthly life comes without effort, sacrifice, ad some good hard work.
Dose #4 and this adventure was getting harder.
