The excitement, joy and life changes are starting to feel like a member of the family. They have moved in, we share the same address, they greet me at breakfast with a hot cup of coffee!
Their presence was magnified at Holmes Elementary for their last day of the school year festivities. A surprise had been planned for Jen and we were invited! There we were hiding in the halls of the school.... waiting for just the right moment when they would reveal the surprise!
Waiting and hiding.... gives you time to think and reflect!
The halls of an elementary school will take you back on a sentimental journey. You can hear, feel, see the first day of school for your kids. You can hear, feel, and see their successes, joys, struggles, accomplishments. Days of school pictures, forgotten homework, science projects, musicals, Valentines treats all come to mind. In reliving Jen’s elementary journey.... she was at home sick EVERY Valentines party of her elementary school years. From chicken pox to strep throat... she never celebrated a Valentines Day with her class mates.
Fast forward, we are there to celebrate a huge elementary school memory. One that never had been on our radar screen. I never dreamed Jen would be the focus of a major farewell from the United States to an international experience and being sent off from an elementary experience!
Life does come to us in circles... she began her public education in an elementary school and now as she prepares to embark on her international education..... she receives a send off from her elementary school, staff and students. And I do believe the tears that flowed there today were equally significant. Jen is loved and respected by her students! What a great testimony to her impact and effectiveness.
What a great circle of life.... give as you have received.
