There Are Two Kinds of People - September 20, 2011

Someone shared with me: (Thanks,  Shannon)
“There are two kinds of people in the world -

    Those who believe:  “I CAN”
    Those who believe:  “I CAN’T”

Guess what.....
    They are both right!”

Oh my word, how true is this!

If you picture yourself succeeding, if you believe you will succeed; you are right!  You will!

If you picture yourself struggling, doubting that success will come, thinking you are not able; you are right!
You will fail!

Simple concept; tougher daily application.   Time to spend some quality time looking into the mirror.  Which type of people are we?  How am I doing?  Am I wasting time and energy because of my “mind set”?

As I watch Jen adapt to her new surroundings I am amazed at her stamina.  Everything (almost - her hair is still red!) in her world is going through a change.  Not a permanent change, but ten months is way too much time to waste, so some changes affect her for this period of time as if they were permanent!  She is resilient, beyond her experience.  She is adapting, way beyond her comfort zone.  There is no iced tea or black coffee making its way into her daily routine; that a change!

I truly believe I am watching my daughter adapt because of one simple reason: she believes she can!  So she is.  So she will.  This opportunity and period of her life will be monumentally successful because she is the kind of person who believes “I can”!

If you look at photography on her blog you will see this motto hanging in her room: “She believed she could, so she did!”  And  oh my word, that is just how she is living.  Way to go, Jen!  Good for your own success; thanks for your example!

Now it is our turn, in each of our lives.....  what kind of people are we?

There are only two kinds.
